David’s Salon

David Charlton was born in Sunderland, England. He comes from a family of hairdressers, one of the most sought after careers in England. At the age of 16, he was a student at Durham Technical College, at the same time, he was working full time at his Uncle Jeffrey’s salon. After 3 years, he passed with distinction the City and Guilds of London Institute Examination in Men’s And Ladies’ Hairdressing. He then continued his studies at South Shields Technical College where again, he passed with distinction the Advanced City and Guilds of London Institute Examination in Men’s and Ladies’ Hairdressing. Having been able to learn and excel in his chosen course, he was asked to go back to South Shields to teach in the Hairdressing Department. He also conducted workshops for the North East Hairdressers Federation.

In 1978, David came to the Philippines to be the manager of Rever Salon located at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Makati. Not very long after, he became a partner, and eventually the sole owner. He expanded Rever to 5 more locations. By 1989, with the desire to share his expertise even more, he opened the very first David’s Salon in New Farmer’s Market in Cubao. David’s Salon would give the same level of hairstyling perfection at more affordable rates. Soon after, he decided to enter into partnerships with his business associates and then the public, which gave way to an even larger and faster expansion. At present, there are over 200 David’s Salon branches nationwide plus 2 branches abroad.

David continues to share his expertise through his very own David’s Salon Academy. Together, they make sure all branches live up to its name and give out exceptional services at prices everyone can afford.
